My favorite part about “almost” winter and “sorta still” winter is very heavy frosts bordering on light snows. Then the real trick is to catch those moments before they morph into something else. The wind loves to wreak havoc on EVERYTHING and blow away those heavy frosts/ light snows and once the sun crests over the mountain it all but melts right in front of you. I generally find most of my favorite picture moments find me, but I rarely find them. This was no different. I loved the way the frost laid so nicely on the fence wire and on the taller surfaces of the post, yet not in the deeper crevasse. I also love the untold story of an old seemingly forgotten fence or barn, I can’t help but wonder what it has “seen” in its life.
